A high-end Tokai 000-42 in very good condition. Vintage Pearl Guitars is offering a completely handcrafted, all-solid-wood, high-end Tokai Cat's Eyes CE-120T guitar (equivalent to the 1939 Martin 000-42 model).
Like the Martin original, it has a neck made out of one piece of mahogany wood (see pictures).
Neck width at the nut is 4,4cm.
Specifications include solid wood construction, herringbone inlays, snowflake inlays on the fretboard, a long bridge, and scalloped bracing—a true vintage 000-42 copy.
Visually, the guitar resembles the 1939 Martin 000-42 that Eric Clapton played at his 1992 Unplugged concert. While the binding on the top isn't made of luxurious abalone, everything else is identical.
Since Tokai received technical support from Martin, the copy is very accurate. It's a truly rare guitar that you won't find often.
The serial numbers of the Cat's Eyes guitars from this era are unclear. The CE series was revived around 1991, and this model is listed in the 1993 catalog but not in the 1994 catalog.
